  • Glacier landscape by the fjord. At the foot of Oslo’s main railway station, an artificial glacier made of white Carrara marble and granite rises out of the water of the fjord. Conceived and designed by top Norwegian architect Snøhetta (whose name, which translates to “snow mountain,” mirrors that of Norway’s highest peak), it forms the roof of Norway’s brand new state opera house. Most visitors to the opera house initially bypass the entrance on the right-hand side and walk up on to the marble roof to enjoy Oslo’s most beautiful view.
The interior features the finest Scandinavian architecture, energetic and dignified. Water and meticulous design play an integral part in this unique project, which features Duravit products in all of its powder rooms, toilets, and the VIP area used by the royal family.
